Semester 2 in the House

Welcome to Semester 2 and to D'Angela's Blog.  On this blog, you will find many useful links along the sides of it.  These include etexts of the the novels, plays and stories we will be reading as well as helpful hints—including essay writing guides, research reminders and works cited information.

Each day (I try my best)  I will post what we did in class, what is for homework and a 'heads up' of any upcoming due dates.

This will be useful if:

1.  You are away and wonder what we did
2.  Get home from school and forgot what we did and what you have to do
3.  If you forget your textbooks at school and need to get the work done (use the etexts)

Occasionally I post homework hints as well.

We will also be using the 'Remind App' to communicate as well.

Look at the blog numbers—30,000 people can't be wrong!  Use the blog—it is there for you.

3C1 Weekend Homework (Jan 9-10)

Read Chapter 5 of West Side Story (it's short!) and answer the questions from your question package.

4U ISU Reminders

Package submitted on the day will include:

1.  3 Metacognition Questions
2.  Works Cited Page (just your article needs to be cited)
3.  Article (with evidence of highlighting)
4.  Minimum 3 Note Sheets (1 of which must be using STM Note Sheet)

Practice your delivery.  Movement, Gestures, Intonation, Volume of Voice, Note Cards, Eye Contact (4 Zones) are all important aspects to a good presentation.  The key to presenting is practice.  Must be 4-6 minutes long.  No visual aids.

Remember, speak to us, don't read to us!

Look to your assignment handout to review what should be covered in your presentation!

Note Sheets are available here:
STM Note Sheets

Alphabetically by last name:

If you know you are going to be away one of these days, please see me.

Please look at your STM English Department Guidelines (given to you the 2nd day of class) for rules and policies regarding formal presentations and missing class.

Remember, Monday January 11th you will be given time (after the Hamlet quiz) to fine tune your presentation.
