Snow Day! The two greatest words in the English language.  Well, at least they are if you are a teacher or student.

-be sure you have finished your feature article chart and have made notes on the 9 techniques of news articles found on page 156 and 157 of Language and Writing 10
-we are now done with the concept of feature article/information text, so take a few minutes this weekend to review your notes on this topic

Next week

-begin To Kill A Mockingbird on Monday and Tuesday, review of the news article (which you studied in grade 9; we do this mostly to prepare you for the literacy test as you usually have to write one on the test) and, by the end of the week, we should be introducing your first minor writing assignment

-finished the short story "Interlopers"
-question sheet should be completely filled out except for the character chart (we will do that next week)
-take a few minutes this weekend to review the first element of fiction we have studied - conflict
