“My Last Duchess” - Follow Up Questions

1.                 What are three qualities of the Duke?  Use a quote to support each answer

Point – trait; Proof – Quote; Explain – How it reveals it

2.                 Look up the definition of Enjambment. Write it down.  Write two lines where it is seen in the poem.  Give one reason you think the poet may have chosen to write in this style.

3.                 Read the Psychoanalytical Approach.  Which of the three psychic zones seems to guide the speaker’s behaviour?  Explain your choice.

4.                 Read the Feminist Approach.  Which of the sub points of the ‘approach’s beliefs’ are seen in the poem?  Explain.
