THE DOCUMENTARY

Roger Ebert, probably the most famous and one of the most influential movie critics said that it was "one of the best films I have ever seen."

When it wasn't nominated for an Oscar, movie critics  the media, and the general public were so incensed it led to a complete revamping of how movies are voted on by the Oscar Committee.

It has incredibly high critic scores and viewers scores on the most respected film sites.

It is an epic story of teenagers, struggle and redemption.

Why did I choose it?

1.  Its about teen, teen issues and obstacles
2.  It is considered one of the top 10 documentaries ever made
3.  Its considered the greatest sports movie ever made
4.  Only documentary to win Sundance Film Festival Audience Award and only documentary to close the NY Film Festival
5.  When it was snubbed, it forced a change the Oscar voting process
6.  You've never seen it
7.  It is March Madness

March Break Reminders

-you are working on your two paragraphs
-remember one has to be on compare or contrast and one using any of the other methods of development you want
-brainstorm before you write and use your writing toolbox
-paragraphs should be 8-10 sentences and no longer than 11 sentences

-rough copies of the paragraph are due Tuesday after the break
-final polished good copy is due Wednesday or Thursday

On Monday, after the break, we will start Macbeth.

-the third paragraph is a summary of your findings (similarities, differences, which do you agree with? why is this topic important?)
